HOUSE LACROSSE

Spring & Fall Sports

Regional Lacrosse

OBGC’s Boys & Girls Lacrosse program is a regional one, which means that while it is not a travel team with tryouts and additional expenses, the games are often held in locations that may incur longer travel times.

See below for details for Boys Lacrosse & Girls Lacrosse Programs.

Girls Lacrosse

The Olney Girls Lacrosse program was created to offer youth girls the opportunity to learn, play and love the game of lacrosse. We want to be the best recreational program in the area focused on promoting and educating players, coaches and families in the skill, knowledge, sportsmanship and love of lacrosse.

Cost:

Scoopers (K – 1st co-ed) = $165

League (1st – 8th) = $250

General Information:

Olney Girls Lacrosse plays games within the Metro Girls Lacrosse League (MGLL).  The league includes teams from Maryland and Virginia counties.

Practices:

One or two practices per week beginning mid-March through May. Dates and times TBD. Practices are at OBGC fields. Coaches determine practice day/times.

Games:

Games will be scheduled on Sundays.

All HOME games will be held @ OBGC fields. AWAY game locations/times will be posted when the league completes schedules (usually at the beginning of March).

Age Groups:
Scoopers (K-1st grade co-ed):
This team is for our youngest players who are NEW to lacrosse.  Coaches will introduce the game of lacrosse in a fun and interactive manner.  The kids must have fun first, learning will naturally follow.  We welcome and encourage parents to participate in the practices so they too may learn the game.

Practices are 2 times a week- once during the week and one on weekends. Both at OBGC. No games.

OBGC League Play Groups:
1st-2nd grade

3rd-4th grade

5th-6th grade

7th-8th grade

Coaches:

As a recreational lacrosse program, we rely on volunteers to coach our sports programs. We are always looking for volunteers to get involved with girls lacrosse; with increased interest and player participation, we need coaches to field our growing teams.

We provide reimbursement for training through US Lacrosse and other local lacrosse clinics. If you are interested in coaching, please indicate Coach or Asst Coach when you register.

We will only field teams that have Coaches!
